The first days of a long and hard winter...

Actually, I don't have any reason to believe that this winter is going to be bad. It actually looks like it's going to be pretty good. I just like saying that winters will be "long and hard." Maybe also "bleak." I have a negative attitude towards winter, which always puts me at odds with Ms. Lily, who loves winter and can't get enough of that horrible, horrible snow. I just don't like it because one day it's going to kill me in a car crash and I went to a high school that didn't believe in snow days and also snow killed my uncle in a shootout over a game of poker.

I have been playing Final Fantasy X with Kari, and the tropical locale of Spira is fitting balm against the biting winds of the Boreal Hades that is November in Ohio. Also we have cocoa.

We have a landline now, in our apartment. Those of you who may have tried to call me at some point (few of you, admittedly) may have noticed that cell phone service in our apartment is nonexistent. And so we further exhaust our resources so that we may receive tellyphone calls.

Soon the student loan payments will begin. Grace period's up, and the payment schedule should be heading my way. I brace myself for the pain.

All in all, though, life is pretty sweet.

Nate: I hope so too. If you find yourself hankering to be in even colder winters, please come to Chicago.

However, it may be the case that in not very long, I will be able to very easily be in Cleveland. I will keep you "in the loop", so to speak, on further developments.

I'm dreading winter in Boston. I don't think we'll get as much snow as Ohio, but the wind! THE WIND! It will kill me slowly and painfully while I struggle, futile, against it.

I sent Kari a little something in the mail: I hope she gets it before the 14th. Don't tell her I sent anything.

I'm hoping to be able to come visit Cleveland when I'm home for Thanksgiving. If not then, perhaps at Christmas when I will be home for longer. :o)

Okay, maybe snow is deadly and maybe snow is cold and winter is dry and all that bad stuff.

BUT

Here it's just going to be rainy, windy and cold. So maybe at least you can enjoy the pretty sugar coated landscape? I'll be getting hypothermia in the dampest country in the world. But I love it.

P.S. How's life outside of blogland?

Snow in Ohio? I don't remember what that's like. Perhaps because I spent all weekend in the Pacific Ocean...
