A couple days without Kari
So, the GF left for home Thursday night with her momma, and all Friday I had a headache. Coincidence? I think the girl has become my immune system.
So last night I went out with Lily and a wonderful fellow Kenyonite, Ms. Amy. We had dinner at Maxx Doogan's, and talked about all kinds of post-collegiate issues. Lily seems to admit that she is having a fantastic time less begrudgingly than I do (or maybe the exhaustion has a more profound effect on my outlook), but I think that it was apparent to Amy that we are both having a ball.
Of course, when I got home from my dinner at seven, I spent about an hour going about my affairs on the internet (including regularly checking my friends' blogs, which update less often than my desire for constant entertainment would like), and then promptly fell asleep. I slept from eight o'clock to one-thirty in the morning, and then went back to sleep after watching a tivo-ed episode of the Colbert Report.
On a brief side note, I think that tivo has become one of those brand names which replace the generic term, like "xerox" and "kleenex."
In any case, I got far too much sleep last night.
I was greeted with a curious site during my trip to Giant Eagle this afternoon (I took some of the kids to obtain supplies, which in the lingo of the school is apparently synonymous with "candy"): DVD-rental vending machines. Has anyone else encountered these? They have a selection of some thirty movies, and you just swipe your credit card... a dollar a night. What will they think of next? I'm not sure I'd like to know.
Well, I suppose I better get off, it's about the end of my shift and I'm going out to the Hilltopper with my folks. It was a pretty easy Saturday, ten hours or no.
Oh! And there's the dinner bell. I better skedaddle.

Your posts make me homesick.
I would update more but my weekend would go something like this: Friday - went to a bar, went to a different bar, ate some peanuts with chile, went salsa dancing. Saturday - slept a lot, did some "homework," went to a salsa class, took a shower, rode a motorcycle to a friend's birthday party, where there was salsa dancing.
I miss Giant Eagle. I think that's a pretty sure sign that I miss home.
Nate. I saw this post on Neil Gaiman's blog, and I thought it was particularly poignant.

stay loose.
1. Found your blog from Gardener's blog.
2. I saw one of those DVD machines today when we went grocery shopping. I was incredulous.
3. You have more of a social life than I do. This makes me sad. Not because I'm surprised that you have a social life, but because I have such a pronounced LACK of social life.
4. **HUGS**
