Must keep posting

Kari and I have taken, over the last couple of weeks, to watching "Jeopardy." I dunno why that's worth mentioning. I didn't watch Jeopardy for over ten years, and so it's kind of a surprise, now, to discover I'm good at it.

I did a special study session with some of the ninth graders today to help them prepare for the SSAT/ISEE. It took out most of my voice, and they seemed to have fun despite the fact that they're nervous.

I was greeted yesterday by a lady who said that she had last seen me "on the Hawken stage," which was something of a surprise. Turns out she's Jack Breisch's wife! It was an odd moment, to be recognized like that. She even told me that she remembered "when I was a famous actor in the community." It was nice.

Life is a little stressful these days, but it remains equally balanced with enjoyable and rewarding moments-- as well as plenty of moments in which I am amazed that I am working. For example, tomorrow I will be watching Kenneth Branagh's fabulous Much Ado About Nothing with my drama kids... after a morning of playing Ultimate Frisbee and evaluating Poe's "Annabelle Lee" and "The Philosophy of Composition."

Of course, I have to be the adult-- I have to be the one keeping them all in line and engaged (and they're middle-schoolers, so they need a little prodding). And that takes a lot of energy.

But on the other hand... Branagh. *shrugs* Seems like a decent trade off.

Also I'm playing FFVII with my girlfriend. So life is good.
