Seven Against the Rest of This Year

Okay, in the next 37 Days I have much to accomplish, and as I lay awake in bed last night at 3:30am, unable to sleep (this is partly due to Metroid), I identified seven different aspects of my existence which either constitute or possess distinct objectives which I can aim for.

For whatever reason, in the grogginess of this morning, I decided to assign each of these aspects one of the Seven from The Silence, in an effort to motivate myself and properly personify these objectives.

Joliette | Film Comedy essay, constituting research and writing
Alden | Creative Writing final, constituting... writing
Sarah | Kenyon Seminar, constituting reading, essay writing, and field trip
Cody | EUTCo Writers' Festival, constituting memorizing lines, attending rehearsals, and performance
Gabrielle | Social obligations, constituting seeing friends and collecting/distributing contact information
Alicia | Preparations for departure, constituting packing, selling things, travel arrangements
Sinclair | The Silence

I understand that nobody who reads this is going to have any idea who these characters are, but this entry is also for me to reference and remind myself (I have the same list taped to the shelf above my laptop screen). I'm not sure why this kind of personification helps me-- somehow it feels like dividing the labor.
