A vengeful undertaking
I am sparked into continuing this blog for a number of reasons, but I feel no shame in admitting that first and foremost among them is petty rivalry. To elaborate: Sebastian has, on occasion, been updating his blog, and therein he has expressed a kind of sardonic eloquence that I have felt intimidated by. I actually caught myself thinking "this man is putting my lexical and syntactical skills to shame."
Do you hear that, you cad? This is your doing.
Rivalry aside, I've found that I actually miss the act of arranging words into sentences to give them meaning and, perhaps, even power. I have been remiss in my neglect of The Silence, mostly due to the fact that I've been engaged in more scholarly (read: boring) pursuits. I have what seems an almost insurmountable (and at the very least, unpleasant) amount of work to complete before the semester draws to a close, and at one point I was actually considering using my "mulligan" to drop out of a class post-deadline should my research proposal come back rejected (it turned out to be all right, as things somehow have a way of doing for me).
I'm still behind in my reading, which is an unfortunate circumstance. I'd like to sit down for a movie this evening (or at the least, the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica, which I missed on Friday), but it seems as though I'll be spending both tonight and in all likelihood tomorrow engrossed in John Dos Passos's The Big Money.
It would seem, as well, that my Thanksgiving Break will most likely involve copious amounts of reading and writing-- none of which will be for pleasure, and most of which is liable to prove unpleasant. Unfortunately, my deadlines for the semester all seem to fall quite soon after Thanksgiving Break ends, which has the beneficial outcome of meaning I will most likely be done with my semester in early December.
Unfortunately, I may also be screwed.
More later, I suppose-- I do have more to discuss, including but not limited to the return of Ryan Merrill, the advent of Guitar Hero II, Final Fantasy XII, and the Republican party's claims that Osama Bin Laden "thinks we aren't tough enough to stick it out."

Natums, good to see you posting again. Keep it up. I will, too.
Also, yes, I am a cad.
But I'll tell you what else I am:
I am a very, VERY dangerous man should you utter one unwanted word about FFXII in this blog. I know not a thing about it and am not looking to have things ruined.
Careful, boy, lest I ruin you.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Except that, cad though I may be, your lexical and syntactical skills will always put mine to shame.
So no worries.
Be well.

Oh noes! Did Battlestar start and I not know about it?
Woe, woe betide he who works evenings. What night is it on?
Also Nate, I did find what I was looking for in your blog. I felt like I needed to balance out that last comment, which I believe was one of the meanest piece of Spam I have ever seen.
I hope you are well.
