Take me away from this horrible thing

The internet is a terrible thing. I have been held virtually captive by my computer after nearly three weeks away from it, simply because I once again have the option of sitting in my chair and doing barely anything without being completely and absolutely inactive.

It's horrible.

I did manage to get down a thousand new words of The Silence (or close to it, anyway), and I hope that by doing the same thing over the next couple of days I will be able to make a habit of it before classes are upon me. I really do have a lot of story left to tell, and with each month that goes by without writing or revising I see more and more holes in the material I already have. I need to seriously revamp what I've got, and I need to keep writing so I don't despair at how much I have left to do.

It's gonna be a really cool story if it ever gets finished, I promise.

Other than that, there's not a whole lot to report. Inactivity does not breed interesting blog entries. Oh! I finished Mieville's The Scar and it was in many ways exactly as awesome as his Perdido Street Station, which, seriously dudes and dudettes-- you must read. I've just launched into Pratchett and Gaiman's Good Omens, another one that's been recommended to me many times (for good reason, it seems). Hilarious all around, and I'm looking forward to finishing it over the next couple days if I'm not consumed by lethargy first.

I'd like to name a cat "Lethargy." It would be appropriate.
